chocolate and churros. need i say more?

Today Leah and I took a field trip away from our neighborhoods to check out Xoco.  She had been there before and told me about their chocolate and churros.  Needless to say, just from that alone, I was wanting to go.  I heard about Xoco from my BFF who lives in Kansas but didn't really know what it was all about.  Well, I think we were having the most fun out of anyone in the restaurant.  I want to go back...  like tomorrow.  The chocolate was so thick and delicious and hot and with the churros for dessert, well, that was just amazing.  I can't wait to go back with my BFF!!  So Mallory, you'd better get your booty to Chicago soon! :)

weekend tidbits

Well, this weekend was pretty darn fun.  I worked Saturday as per usual, and then Saturday night it was off to a friend's party.  Ben's mom sent us a cute Valentine's Day package with too much delicious candy and a beautiful scarf that used to be her moms.  Smokie took an instant liking to it.  Then Sunday I went to the Dose Market.  Rachael and I walked around looking at all the fun booths drinking coffee, eating delicious pie from Bang Bang and then of course, had a mini cocktail.  I spotted this lovely arrangement of sunflowers made by my good friend Leah, of Leahlaloca.  The arrangement was at a booth for Lill Street, which has some gorgeous pieces.  The pre-Valentines weekend wouldn't be complete without a cheesy girl movie with Mary.  We saw the Vow.  And it was awesome. (Well, it was good enough which was exactly what we needed.)

jewelry swap with leahlaloca!

A good friend and coworker of mine, Leah, is also a jewelry designer.  She makes the most interesting pieces and no two are alike.  She brought in a few pairs of earrings to the flower shop we work in to sell, and I immediately fell in love with these sea foam green dangles.  Leah uses a lot of found objects in her work which make them extra special.  In exchange for these earrings, I gave her my mini chiffon ruffle necklace, which now means I need to make another!  Anyhoo, you should totally check out her shop on Etsy.  Lots of gorgeous pieces, including these which are on my list of favorites.
